HISTORY OF DESIGN

HISTORY OF DESIGN

Wassily But a Hundred Years Later is a furniture concept I created for my History of Design final at Parsons. I took inspiration from the Wassily Chair’s famous Modernist frame and designed a chair that gives its industrial look a Postmodern twist. I used playful colors, polka-dot patterns, ornament, and humor to question Modernism’s seriousness and highlight the value of contradiction.
